Writing Prompts

Photo Prompt: In the Eye of the Beholder

Photography has always been one of the only pastimes that keeps me in the moment.  Most activities, including writing, allow me too much time for self-reflection, which I’ve been known to drown in at times. When I go out to take photos, I stay present by observing the world around me. Everything that may have been weighing on me is extinguished by the excitement of capturing life beyond my own self.

Consider these words from Eckhart Tolle:

Most humans are never present in the now, because unconsciously they believe that the next moment must be more important than this one. But then you miss your whole life, which is never not now.

And that’s a revelation for some people: to realize that your life is only ever now.

It’s been a while since I’ve blogged a photo prompt, so let’s write for 20 minutes and see what we uncover about this shot I took a few years back. I’ll be posting my piece by Wednesday, so I hope you’ll come back and read it. You can post yours here, or to your own blog or Twitter account with a link back. Have fun!
